In the journey toward sustainable development solutions, Faraday Investment Joint Stock Company (Faraday JSC) identifies scientific knowledge as the foundation for shaping the future. Through its collaboration with the Institute for Disaster and Environmental Research in implementing the project “One Million Green Batteries,” Faraday JSC continues to affirm its role as a bridge between scientific research and practical application—where knowledge is transformed into tangible value for the environment and the community.

The project is built upon lead-acid battery regeneration technology researched and developed by Professor Dr. Duong Van Sinh. The patented invention “Device and Method for Regenerating Lead-Acid Batteries,” which has been granted exclusive protection, provides a solid foundation for translating scientific research成果 from laboratories into real-world production in a safe, efficient, and sustainable manner.

In practice, Vietnam generates a significant volume of discarded lead-acid batteries each year from transportation, industrial activities, and household equipment. When not properly collected and treated, hazardous components such as lead and sulfuric acid can contaminate soil, water, and air, posing long-term risks to human health. Transforming scientific knowledge into solutions to address this challenge is therefore critically important, both from an environmental perspective and in terms of social responsibility.

With a circular economy orientation, the “One Million Green Batteries” project aims to collect, recycle, and regenerate 1,000,000 lead-acid batteries over a five-year period. Through a transparent collection ecosystem and a standardized treatment chain, the project helps convert hazardous waste into reusable resources, while contributing to emission reduction and the pursuit of Net Zero objectives.

The regeneration technology enables the reversal of electrode sulfation, cell balancing, and reactivation of the electrolyte solution, restoring up to 80–90% of performance compared to new batteries. The regeneration process takes approximately 20 hours, significantly reducing costs and minimizing the generation of hazardous waste. This stands as clear evidence of the practical value of applying scientific knowledge to real-world challenges.

As the project’s implementing entity, Faraday JSC focuses on investing in infrastructure and operating the technology in accordance with strict standards of safety, transparency, and control. At the same time, the Company is working closely with relevant authorities and specialized organizations to complete all required legal documentation, ensuring that all project activities fully comply with Vietnamese law and meet environmental and hazardous waste management standards.
